Co-Op Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility in this co-op requires member orginizations to meet 2 prerquisits:

In an effort to reduce the cost of training new drivers, Moorestown Township is offering Municipalities, Counties, School Districts, and Utility Authorities in New Jersey membership in our ELDT Cooperative.  This co-op allows member organizations to use our curriculum, to self certify new drivers using their own work force and existing infrastructure. By working together, members can get their drivers trained more quickly and at a lower cost than a traditional driving school. If your organization is looking for a way to reduce the cost of driver training, consider joining our Co-Op. Membership is open to any Municipality, Counties, School District, or Utility Company in New Jersey.

Registered Training Location:

The organization must own or have use of a paved property that is roughly 250′ wide by 250′ long that can be used as a range testing pad site. This property will be inspected by the Co-Op and if it meets the State’s parameters it will be registered by the Co-Op with the DOT as an approved training facility.

Designate a Training instructor:

The organization must elect a representative to be as their training instructor.

The requirement for such are as follows:

  • Hold a CDL of the same (or higher) class, and with all endorsements necessary, to operate the commercial motor vehicle (CMV) for which training is to be provided.
  • Meet one of these:
  1. Have a minimum of two years experience operating a CMV requiring a CDL of the same (or higher) class, or the same endorsement; or
